With the rapid development of renewable energy production in the world and the growing need for rational production, consumption and storage of electricity, the Lithuanian company ENERGOBALT is taking a new initiative to start producing hybrid inverters. ENERGOBALT CEO Mindaugas Majauskas says that the production of these inverters will be more focused on physical consumers consuming electricity up to 30 kW.
The company itself is known for its activities carried out with renewable energy. It is distinguished not only by the production of ecologically clean energy, but also sells and takes care of solar power plant equipment, offers the most advanced heating systems and consults on energy issues. It is known as the representative of renewable energy products VIESSMANN and FIMER in the Baltic States.
Hybrid inverters are not new in the world. However, they do not have the features that are currently so necessary. The purpose of the device is to convert the direct current generated by solar modules into current that can be used for electrical appliances (used for both solar and wind power plants). The advantage of this device lies in the fact that a battery can be connected to it, and such a connection makes it possible to use the generated energy during the dark. And special programming allows you to adjust the charging mode. The battery can be charged in several ways: from the network, when the electricity price is attractive, or using solar and wind power plants. What is interesting is that the inverters automatically record when it is more profitable to use electricity from the network, when from another place, and this feature is friendly to the user's wallet.
This device is particularly relevant for those using electricity storage services and for those who, when needed, purchase electricity from electricity suppliers at the market price of the relevant hour. Often, both when using storage services and when purchasing electricity, it is difficult to get the best price option, and a hybrid inverter will make the process extremely simple and economical: according to M. Majauskas, the head of ENERGOBALT, having this converter, it becomes possible to „store electricity when the price on the electricity exchange is low and deliver electricity to the grid when the price on the electricity exchange is higher, as well as charge and buy electricity from the grid when the price on the exchange is lowest“. The hybrid inverter will maintain balance in electricity networks – it will seek to increase electricity consumption when a lot of electricity is produced (then, most likely, the price on the market will be lower) and will seek to reduce demand when less is produced.
It is noteworthy that until now there have been no hybrid inverters on the market that have all of these features. Although it is difficult to say what the demand will be, the company is optimistic given the market situation.
